One of the major (yes, major) problems a fashion blogger usually encounter is choosing photos for a single blog post. Let me stress this out: a blog post dumped with numerous photos of yourself might be a turn off, in contrast with a blog post with few, filtered photos to look at. No reader would dare look at your face obsessively and excessively. If a case comes that you like all the photos you took for one outfit, might as well pick a few relevant ones and keep the others on your computer.
See my case above. I had around 18 chosen shots for this specific blog post. If I upload all of those individually, would my entry be enticing to look at? Would you continue reading all of my posts if it were like that? I suppose, NO.
Would it still be considered an outfit post or a self-publishing entry? I think the latter. So, let me help you out, fashion bloggers. Read on to find out some tips on how to choose the right photos for your blog.
Choose 1-3 whole body outfit shots.
It’s an outfit post after all, so it is substantial to upload at least a couple of your ensemble in a full view angle.
Pick a close shot angle. To let readers see some parts of your outfit closely, choose a photo that would best emphasize the details in an up-close angle.
…or I could also consider this as an excuse to upload a favorite face-exuding shot (lol)
Choose a half body shot. Make sure it has all the details you want to give emphasis to. In a personal dilemma, I’m torn between these two photos above, so I considered quality- of the photo itself, or of the outfit. In this case, my skirt looks obviously crumpled on the second photo, which conclusively triumphs the first photo to be chosen.
Furthermore, aside from a full body, half body and close up shots, ensure that the little details of your outfit namely the accessories, shoes, bag and other accentsare also captured well.
Given all that, I lay down my personal outfit post sample on the table, with 18 photos trimmed down to a few mandated ones:
What I wore:
Peplum top from Temt (Australia), bandage skirt from Cotton On, heels from Folded and Hung, necklace from Forever 21, armor ring from Australia.
